I have seemingly got much worse with PMT so very emotional etc.

short periods which are regular- heavy one day, 2 light ones and then thats it. cramping at the start and at the end.

low levels of libido have almost evaporated altogether and I end up teary and snappy a lot

I have got to the point of going to the GP (not my normal one) about this, as Im getting to desperation point of looking at getting progesterone on the internet.....


Im 35. no more babies as frankly, Bernice nearly killed me and so richard and I made choices and he had the op!

Wonder if anyone else has faced this, as background- Im diabetic, now on long term steriods and failed a long list of RA drugs...

Jenni my lovely. You will probaby recoil in horror, but I am wondering whether all the drugs you have had to take over the years have brought on the start of an early menopause? The symptoms you describe mirror my own at menopause-teary, loss of sex drive, regular but short periods etc. You MUST go to the doctor and explain what is happening. Obviously, I am only surmising and it could be something else entirely but please, please get it checked. I am in all day if you want to natter. Love you xxxxx

What sort of tests do they do for early menopause?

Hi Jenni

They do a simple blood test to check the levels of FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Luteinising Hormone). This site gives good info and details what to expect from the results.
